Coming Out of Hibernation

Gosh, it has been cold, and even a bit snowy, here.    Dad offered to let me on the deck this morning and when I saw the snow I backed way up!

I have been napping a lot in my cozy blankies.    Like this (my hibernation pose):

And Mom found me two new treats:   one is Fortiflora, that was recommended by Katie Isabella and her Mommy (supposed to help my digestion, but I like it 'cause it tastes DEEELICIOUS! )  The other new treat is a whole CANISTER full of Temptations Mixups, that are Catnip Fever flavor.     I also highly recommend them.    So I do wake up from my hiberation naps to get some fuds.

I also wake up to sit with Mom at the computer:

Notice that she had to move the wireless keyboard out of my way so I could get comfy.    She does spoil me that way!

Our Christmas tree is up, Mom has finished the (online) shopping and the Christmas cards, and I am hoping she remembers to blog for me more often.   She does go around and read some of my friends' blogs for me, and sometimes lets me comment, but I would like her to step that up too.

I don't have any festive header or eCard to put out for you all, but our wishes are there just the same:  may you all have a wonderful Christmas or Chanukkah, and I hope you get lots of yummy treats, and maybe a little roast beast!

A Good Excuse this Time for My Blogging Absence

This time I really DO have a good excuse for my absence.    You see, Mom spent most of the summer away helping out her daughter and with "our" new baby.   Thus Mom, my typing assistant, was not able to write blog posts for me.       So let me introduce her to you:

I know, it looks like my sister gave birth to a bunny rabbit!       Sillies, those are not her own ears!   She has quite normal human ears, in fact.

Her big sister came for a visit her first Christmas, and I do hope I get to meet this little one at Christmas time as well, or near then.     I like babies!   They smell good and they don't move fast.     Mom says this one is very opinionated, issuing little noises all the time.  I guess she will be a great talker like her big sister.

Checking In -Definitely NOT Wordless Wednesday

Dear friends, I have not given up blogging, but I recognize things here at Simba's Antics have been MIGHTY SLOW.     Some of you who have pawrents who went to Blogpaws know what it is like - we really do need our assistants to enable us to post.    These thumbless paws just don't quite do the trick with the keyboard.

Anyway, my humans have been doing some traveling - not anything too elaborate or romantic like a Rhine River Cruise or anything, but two weeks here, 4 days there - it all helps to detract from the more important task of blogging.    I wish my assistant scheduled posts in advance like some other creative cat Moms and Dads do, but no such luck.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of me, just so you do not forget what I look like!

First the sleepy shot:

Then the casual crossed-pawsies one:

And finally the left-hind-leg-dangling-off-the desk shot:

Till We Meet Again, William

My friend William has made his final journey to the Rainbow Bridge.    He was one of my very first blogging friends.    I know I will meet you again, at the Bridge,  William.  Meantime, run and play like a kitten and feel free and healthy again.   I bet you will be so glad to see Russell, Gracie, Olivia and Eddie again.   And please say hi to Audrey, The Admiral, Flossie, Sparkle, Annie, Stella, Eric, Nerissa, Elliot, Forrest, Ande  and ALL the many of our good friends who are there.  Hugs and purrs for you dear Mom.

Happy Easter and Happy Spring!

Wishing all a very Happy Easter and those in the Northern Hemisphere a very Happy Spring.   Though it is coolish here today, there are some hints of Spring outside, so we know it is trying really hard to arrive.   Thanks to Ann of Zoolatry for the lovely graphic because I am so not artistic!

This is the most recent picture of me - I was lying next to the big glass doors, glancing sideways from time to time to check out the little birds and squirrels and such.

Special Friends

Hi everybuddy.       I know i have not blogged in more than a month.     Well, part of the problem was that the humans went off to visit BOTH grandchildren in two different cities!     Fortunately I was left in the care of my girlfriend Julie, who takes very good care of me.   Although I sure have been sticky like velcro to Mom since they got back.

Now when they were on their travels they had the pleasure and honor of meeting up with Katie Isabella's Mommy for lunch and then got to go back to her lovely home and meet Katie herself!     If I were not so fond of Katie I would be jealous, but look at this gorgeous girl and her sleek, black, shiny fur!   And that adorbs half moustache.

Now considering the historical opportunity that my Mom had to photograph Katie, I cannot believe she chopped off her lovely tail.      So here is the NEXT picture she took:

Incredible fail!     Face chopped off, tail chopped off!!

Now her final try: not really in focus.    But at least the whole kitty is there.    Look at that fabulous tuxie bib!

Mom whispered to me that she just wanted to scoop up Katie and bring her home.      And then when they were visiting my human sister's family, she also wanted to scoop up their Lucy and bring HER home!   Fortunately for me, no cats came home with them this time.     Though I would love some VISITS from those two ladycats.    Fire up those tunnels and Esses!

Happy weekend to all.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi to all my furry friends!      I haven't posted in about a month, due to the fact that Mom always likes for me to have a picture, and all she could get of me were sleeping pictures!     And I posted THREE of those last time.

Well, she managed to catch me awake, but before I stood up due to seeing the camera.

She thinks I am seeing the strap and want to play with it when I do that.

My whole family is closed in our family room today with a space heater because it is SO cold that our furnace just cannot keep up to make the whole house warm.    It was -2 degrees F this morning outside!   I am loving the coziness and sleeping again - dictating this post from my dreams.     I thought the groundhog DIDN'T see his shadow!

Love to you all, and your purrsons, today especially.

Happy January

I wonder if I should even show my face, after such an extended absence.        Well, the truth is, the humans were away visiting my human sister and her family for 9 days.     They said it was really fun being with the little granddaughter over Christmas.      But that meant I had to spend Christmas ALL BY MYSELF!  Thank Cod for my friend Julie, who came twice a day to give me fuds and pet me and stuff.     I do feel Mom could have blogged for me a bit sooner in January!!

It has been an odd winter so far, right?     First it was ridiculously warm for winter.     Now it has gotten pretty raw and cold.    We have had two MINUTE dustings of snow, but nothing to be able to measure.        Dad says maybe he won't ever use the snowblower this winter (that has happened before, even the very first winter after he bought it!)   Now this may be all global warming and such, but my humans remember having a ski trip to Vermont scheduled in February 1973 that they canceled because it was just raining in Vermont that winter!   (Yes, they ARE that old).

I have gone out quickly on the deck a little, but mostly I enjoy sleeping on the couch.    The main differences are which blankie I choose (they are all there), or which direction I face in!   I do like to mix it up a little!
