Photo Hunt - Flash

Mom has difficulty taking pictures of us with the Flash on, because they look too unnatural and we usually end up with Lazer eyes.        The first picture here has eyes that reflect gold, and because I looked off to the side, the second one looks more normal but is not very interesting.     But neither one looks too flashy.

However this next picture is the following one in the series in iPhoto, so the first two probably WERE with flash, but in the daytime.  The pictures are from 2010 so Mom can't possibly actually REMEMBER.

Chilly Tuesday Morning

Can you believe it!   It was 55 F when we went outside this morning first thing after breakfast!     We had some rain yesterday and it brought a little respite from the hots which should last about 2 days.  Our high is supposed to be 74 today.      Many of you know how Dad puts old towels out on the deck for us to sit on if we wish.  Well, this morning we certainly needed them to keep our 'tocks and toes warm!

Audrey has a new favorite spot which is a nest in the middle of the coiled hose, so Dad puts a towel there for her.

So you may wish to know how we behaved when Mom got home on Thursday.   Kitties, we blush to have to ay we did not hold out on her for even a minute!      Of course Audrey likes everybody, so even if she did not recognize Mom after 7 weeks away, she would still have been friendly, but Simba is more cautious.     But sure glad to have his Mama home!!

Sadieday

Today we want to dedicate our blog post to our dear woofie friend, Sadie, of Beaded Tail.

This past week, Sadie was diagnosed with cancer of her liver and spleen, and yesterday she let her dear Mommy and Daddy know it was time for her to run to the Rainbow Bridge.      Saturdays have always been "Sadiedays" when Sadie would take us for a walk near her home in Oregon or for a forest hike, and her human would take pictures and post them.     We always enjoyed our strolls with Sadie, the times she would go "offloading" and the times she would allow her Mommy to go off leash a little.  Here she enjoys a rain puddle for us all.

Though most of our blog friends are kitties, Sadie is our favorite blogging dog, even though we never met her in the fur.    We send gentle purrs to her Mommy nd Daddy and her sister kitties Angel and Isabella.    Our Mom and Dad will take a special stroll today in honor of and in memory of Sadie.

Run free and healthy, sweet Sadie.  We will miss you tons.

Mommy's Coming Home Today!

FINALLY Mommy is leaving the little baby's family behind and coming home to US, her fur babies, today.    We have not yet decided whether to be aloof or all over her when she arrives:  maybe 10 minutes of aloof will do?

Audrey, I think I hear her inside; let's go and check!

Happy Father's Day!

Here's to wish our Dad a very Happy Father's Day!     He takes such good care of us, and it is a BIG job!     Two different feeding patterns and needs, two different litter boxes to scoop, us wanting IN/OUT for the deck all the time - we are incessant.     Dad, we think you are the very best, and Mom thinks you are a terrific husband, Dad and Grandpa!

Ann of Zoolatry made this awesome graphic for Father's Day.    Thank you very much, Ann.

Happy Father's Day to all Dads everywhere, and to all humans and kitties who have a Dad, which really means EVERYONE!!   For those whose Dad has passed away, we wish you fond memories today.

Photo Hunt - Ripple(s)

Mom took this picture 2 years ago:

And HER Daddy took this one in the 1950s, she thinks:

(Yes, we know, this is supposed to be a CAT blog!)

Few Words Wednesday

Baby slept through her first party on Sunday.

She is up to 6 lbs 4 ounces now!

Maybe next week Mom will get some new pictures of us and remember this is a CAT blog!

We want to add our purrs for Marg, because her Grayson had to go to the Rainbow Bridge.  Marg has such a good heart, taking in kitties who have been abandoned like Grayson, and we know it makes her very sad when any of her animals is sick or has to fly away.     Run free and healthy, sweet Grayson.

And we want to add Godspeed to Momo:

Audrey Gets an Award

My fine gentleman friend Spitty the Kitty nominated me for the Illuminating Blogger Award.   Thank you, Spitty!     I guess you enjoyed those naps with me in my red beddie!

The idea of this award is that I must tell one Illuminating Fact about myself.     So Mom asked my first Mom (now the BABY’S MOM), what fact she thought I should share.   She suggested sharing about my name.    So here goes:     When I was adopted I was about 5 months old and my name was Sandy.     But my first Mom thought I should have a more elegant name.  She thought I had big eyes, and at the time (!) I was thin.  So she named me Audrey after Audrey Hepburn.

Now I need to nominate 5 other bloggers to receive the award.   Here are my nominees, though quite frankly we feel that ALL the blogs we read are Illuminating.   In several cases I am nominating one cat who lives in a 2 or more cat household.    No slight is intended to his or her sibling(s).  However I would be interested in knowing an Illuminating Fact about the cat I am listing here.

PURRS to all.
Love,
Audrey

Baby Update

Hi, kitties!     I cannot believe that a whole week has gone by since our last post!   Mom thought maybe she could fool you into thinking my last Easy Sunday post applied to this Sunday, but since none of you commented today, I guess you were too smart.

This past week was a super busy one for everybody but us.     Last Sunday Dad flew out to spend some time with the new grandchild, and also the baby's uncle and auntie drove all the way (over 8 hours) to see her as well and to visit with all the family.  It was a great reunion.      The baby is one month old today!     On May 30th, her actual due date, Mom took some pictures of her showing that she was now "born" with her "0" month old sticker on her onesie.  (they didn't have the stickers called Picky Stickies when she was actually born).      Here is one of them:

See!  The sticker is a picture of a KITTY!

Dad is home now, and we have been very happy to see him again.    Mom is going to stay a little longer helping with the baby, because her Mama has a hard time getting enough rest with so much time spent feeding a tiny one.      They call it "sleep deprivation".   Something none of us kitties know anything about, right?
